SCD Annual Business Meeting and Awards for Excellence in Sustainability
Please join us by registering here for the interactive discussion about all the great things that the SCD is working on this year, and provide your ideas and input for the next year on Thursday, June 17 from 6:00-7:00 pm EDT for the . This will be followed by the Annual Awards for Excellence in Sustainability at 7:00 pm to learn all about the year's best projects and awardees!

APA Sustainability and Resilience Series
SCD is starting a new APA Sustainability and Resilience Series! APA’s Divisions are working hard to create a two-year long, inter-disciplinary series of virtual learning sessions on sustainability and resilience topics for planners. Sessions will be offered for planners new to the material as well as for those with moderate or advanced involvement in sustainability or resilience planning. All sessions will furnish AICP CM credit live AND on demand.

Wilmington selected for 2021 LEED for Cities Local Government Leadership Program
The City of Wilmington in North Carolina is among 15 cities and counties selected to commence certification in a national cohort supported by the LEED for Cities Local Government Leadership Program. The program helps local governments committed to accelerating progress on climate change, resilience and social equity planning, measure and track performance using LEED.

Director of Community Development & Public Works - The Town of Rocky Hill, CT is accepting applications for a senior management position with substantial accountability for community development and public works functions. This is a position that exercises substantial judgement, with a high level of accountability and initiative in providing strategic leadership and supervision of the municipality’s land use; building and construction inspection functions; planning and zoning enforcement functions; inland and wetland functions; engineering services; highway and public works functions; grants; and associated professional activities

Neighborhood Development Director - The City of Greensboro, NC is seeking a Neighborhood Development Director to partner with community stakeholders to ensure quality neighborhoods, affordable, and high-quality housing for its residents. The individual selected for this key role will lead a Department of approximately 30 employees with an annual budget of $8M. The next director will also be responsible for managing in bond funds from a November 2016 referendum. The goal of that funding is to produce 1,000 affordable housing units.

Neighborhood & Development Services Director - The City of Garden City, KS is seeking a qualified candidate for operating under administrative direction of the City Manager and performs work directing the city's planning and community development programs, environmental code enforcement, building code enforcement, historical preservation, and economic development. The position serves as the Department Director and as a Senior Member of the City's Management Team.

Community Development Intern - The Lake County Ohio Commissioners and the Department of Planning and Community Development (PCD) are seeking a part-time intern to assist in various duties with regards to Federal Grants and Community Development. Under direction, performs a wide variety of tasks for the PCD Director and Assistant Director. Responsibilities include: assisting senior personnel with administering Lake County, Ohio's annual Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) entitlement, HOME entitlement and other grants deemed appropriate for County operations.

Landscape Architecture / Planning / Sustainability Positions (3) - CREÄ Affiliates, LLC in Seattle, Washington is seeking motivated professionals to join our growing team. Duties will require working with clients and company staff, and coordinating with other consultants to deliver high-quality design and ensure superior client services. These are leadership positions. The selected candidates will be required to develop and manage project budgets to ensure high-quality deliverables within budget. The candidates will build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project and the firm.

Environmental Planner II - San Jose, CA is looking for a candidate to manage environmental studies and environmental compliance programs and assist in the review of land development applications and documents for impact on transportation systems and/or facilities; and supports VTA's sustainability program.
