Update From Alaska

Climate Champions Team

The Alaska Tribal Resilience Learning Network recently organized through the University of Alaska Fairbanks Alaska Climate Adaptation Science Center. The new learning network is almost exclusively focused on the Bureau of Indian Affairs Tribal Resilience Program (BIA TRP). Since the BIA TRP inception in 2011, over $20 million dollars of program funding has been awarded to dozens of federally recognized tribes and tribal organizations in Alaska. The learning network is helping bring together all of the awardees and other interested tribal officials eligible to apply on behalf of their tribal governments/organizations. The mainstay of the network is a monthly check-in call with presentations provided by past awardees as example best practices. Learn more here!
